Camera images & local storage

The camera preview and webcam extension exchange frames locally on your Mac. ViewportCam does not upload those frames to its licensing or payment services. A video app you select, such as Zoom or Google Meet, may transmit the feed according to its own settings and privacy policy.

Captured images and downloaded recordings are saved locally. App preferences and encrypted license information are also stored on your Mac so the app can restore your settings and check access.

Trial & license data

The app reads a hardware identifier and converts it into a SHA-256 fingerprint before sending it to our licensing services. The raw hardware identifier is not sent. The fingerprint identifies your Mac for the one-Mac license and prevents repeated free trials.

Supabase handles trial requests and stores the fingerprint, trial registration, license reference, and processing status. Keygen issues and validates licenses. Activation sends Keygen the fingerprint, your Mac’s machine name, and platform information; later validation sends the license key and fingerprint.

An internet connection is needed for first activation and a successful license check at least every 72 hours. The trial does not require your email address or a payment card.

Payments & license delivery

Stripe collects your checkout email and payment details in its hosted checkout. The desktop app does not collect payment card details. Our licensing backend stores your purchase email, Stripe checkout and payment references, license reference, and fulfillment or refund status.

Resend receives your email address and license message to deliver your key. Delivery identifiers and status are stored in Supabase so failed deliveries can be retried without issuing duplicate licenses.

Website, downloads & support

Netlify hosts this website, and GitHub serves app downloads and update checks. These services receive connection information when you visit, download, or check for updates. This website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, including pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and how you arrived here. The product reel uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedded player. It loads only when you choose to play the reel, at which point YouTube receives connection and playback information. Google’s privacy policy linked above covers this service.

If you email support, we receive the email and any details or files you choose to include. Avoid sending private camera images, full license keys, or payment card details.

Questions & data requests

Email admin@viewportcam.com with privacy questions or a request to access, correct, or delete information associated with your purchase. Include your purchase email address so we can identify the relevant records. License and transaction records support activation, trial limits, fulfillment, and refund handling.
