14-day free trial

Choose Start 14-day free trial in the app to begin. The 14 days start when your trial is issued. No payment card or account is required, and the trial does not charge you automatically. Each Mac can receive one trial; reinstalling or restarting the trial does not reset its expiry.

Use the trial to check your camera, available controls, and preferred video apps before purchasing.

One purchase, one Mac

A paid ViewportCam license costs $29.99 USD once, with no recurring subscription charge. Purchase at any time using Buy now on this website or Buy ViewportCam in the app. Stripe checkout opens in your browser, and your license key is emailed to your checkout email address. Download the complete Mac app and choose I have a license key to activate it; a trial is optional.

Each license is permanently bound to the first Mac where it is activated. It cannot be deactivated or transferred to another Mac. Activate it on the Mac you intend to use.

The paid license has no scheduled expiry. This purchase does not include a promise of lifetime updates or compatibility with future hardware or macOS releases.

Internet & validation

Internet access is required to start a trial, activate a license, and successfully validate the license at least every 72 hours. After a successful check, the app can provide up to 72 hours of offline access during connectivity problems. Offline access does not extend an expired trial or a suspended license.

Requirements & camera support

ViewportCam requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later. Webcam output in other apps requires installation and macOS approval of the webcam extension; an administrator password or restart may be required.

Features depend on the connected camera and selected shooting mode. USB live view is upscaled to the selected webcam output size; the camera’s source frame rate determines the available motion detail. Review the camera support information and test your setup during the trial.

For purchase or activation help, email admin@viewportcam.com. Refund requests are reviewed through Support & refunds. A refunded purchase disables its associated license.

The app includes open-source components with their own licenses. Their notices are available in the app under Help → Open Source Notices and in the open-source notices. ViewportCam is independent software and is not affiliated with Canon or the video apps it works with.
